Code of Practice (BPA/IPC)

The rulebook private parking operators are contractually bound to follow.

Since October 2024, the British Parking Association and International Parking Community operate under a single, unified Private Parking Sector Code of Practice. It sets minimum standards, grace periods, signage requirements, notice content, that operators must meet. A breach of the Code is a genuine basis to challenge a charge, separate from whether the parking itself was actually against the rules.
